What is the full form of XML
XML: eXtensible Markup Language
XML stands for Extensible Markup Language. It is a markup language that was designed to transport and store data in a specific format that can be processed by much human and machine intelligence. It defines a set of rules to encode documents in that specific format.
It is platform independent and language independent.

History
XML was released in late 90’s and became a W3C recommendation on 10 Feb, 1998.
