Java List get() Method

The get() method of List interface returns the element at the specified position in this list.

Syntax

Parameters

The parameter ‘index’ represents the index of the elements to return.

Return

The get() method returns the element at the specified position in this list.

Throws:

IndexOutOfBoundsException– If the index is out of range i.e. index<0 or index>=size().

Example 1

  import java.util.LinkedList;  import java.util.List;  public class JavaListGetExample1 {  public static void main(String[] args) {          List<Integer> list= new LinkedList<>();  for (int i=0;i<6;i++){  list.add(i);  // returns the element at the specified position in this list  int index =list.get(i);  System.out.println(“Element “+i+” stored at Index : “+index);          }      }  }
