How to add a profile picture to your YouTube profile
YouTube is a free video-sharing platform designed for uploading, watching sharing video content. It was introduced in 2005, and now YouTube is currently standout amongst the most popular video-sharing website today. Many people use this platform to showcase their talent and earn money. Since its establishment, it comes with most accepted video sites globally; millions of videos have been shared and uploaded here.
YouTube allows you to customize various settings as per your choice, which vary from making profile settings to privacy settings, from live videos to the user’s channel. The most significant thing on YouTube, which users do not care about, is the profile image. The Influencers or the channel creators had shared their poor experience with the users that they faced when they were in the initial stage due to the ignorance showed towards their profile picture. However, the YouTube profile picture impacts the first image of your profile information and influences your viewers about your account, content, and channel, so you should make it more tempting.
YouTube profile picture generally shows your visual appearance on YouTube channel when you make likes or reply to the audience, and they think you are attentive. Follow the given step to know how to add a profile picture to your YouTube channel.
Method 1
On Window:
Open YouTube on window:
Choose any web browser as per your choice and type http:/www.youtube.com in the address bar located at the top of the window. Afterward, you need to press the “Enter” button from the keyboard; you will be redirected to the YouTube login page.
Login to your YouTube Account:
In a particular case, when you are not automatically logged into your YouTube account, click on the “Sign In” button (shown by the blue color) located at the top right corner of the page. If you click the “sign-in” tab, you will be navigated to a new page, where you will find a blank field where you need to enter your email address, which is associated with your YouTube account.
If there is no previously added email address is found which is associated with your YouTube account, click “Use another account” tab and sign in with your Email Address and password associated with your YouTube account.
Click on the Profile Icon:
Once you logged into the YouTube account, you will see a circular structure with the first letter of your name placed in-between. You will find the first letter of your name only if you have not set a profile picture. If you upload your profile picture, you will no longer see that, and in place of it, you will see your profile image.
Click Settings:
If you click a profile icon, you will see a dropdown menu with a different settings option will appear, where you need to scroll down the window page and click the “Settings” option located above the “Help” option. It will be looked as a gearbox like structure.
Click edit on Google:
From the “Settings” option, you need to select the “Edit on Google” tab placed next to your profile name. If you click on the Edit on Google icon, you will get the “About Me” tab for your Google account.
Click the camera icon:
If you select the “Edit on Google” tab, you will see a popup menu, where you will find the circular structure placed in the middle of the window that shows your current YouTube profile image or a colored circle with the first letter of your first name located in between the circular structure. Here, you need to click the “Camera” tab located in the center of the display.
Click Add profile picture:
Here, you need to click on the “Add Profile Picture” tab; you will be redirected to your computer gallery, where you can select a photo as per your choice.
Choose a photo and click open:
Click an image file to choose it for your profile picture. If you select the profile picture, click on the “Open” tab located at the bottom right corner of the file browser page.
If you already have uploaded pictures in your Google drive, you can choose any one of them.
Click Done:
Once you have done with all the uploading procedures, click the “Done” tab located at the upper-right corner of the window. When you select the “save” tab, it will show you a notification that says the changes you have made to your YouTube account is successfully completed. Afterward, your preferred image will automatically apply to all your Google account, including your YouTube account.
Method 2
By Google app
Open the Google App:
Open the mobile application, and tap “Google App.” It is multicolor capital “G“; you will see this icon on your mobile home page.
Tap More:
If you tap on the “Google” App, you will be redirected to the Google dashboard, where you will see a “More” tab (shown by the three horizontal dots) located at the lower right corner of the App.
Select your name and email address:
If you tap on the “More” tab, it will lead you on a new page, where you need to select your name and Email Address placed at the top left corner.
After now, you need to select your Google account, which is associated with your YouTube account. If you don’t have any linked account, you need to tap the “Add another account” tab and enter your login credentials before sign in.
Tap Manage your account:
From the Google account tab, you will find the “Manage your account” option located at the top of the page.

Tap the Personal Information Tab:
Once you tap the “Manage your account” tab, it will redirect you on a new page, where you need to tap on “Personal info” (located next to home tab) from a list of settings options.
Tap Photo:
From the personal info tab, you will find many settings options related to your personal information, where you need to tap on the “Photo” tab located at the top of the settings option.
It is a circular structure, displays either your current profile image or colorful circle with the first later of your first name.
When you tap on the profile icon, a popup will appear with important instructions.
Tap Set Profile Photo:
In the popup menu, you will find two settings options either you choose “Cancel” or “Set Profile Photo,” where you need to tap Set Profile “Photo tab,” located at the right bottom of the popup menu.
If you click on the Set Profile Photo, you will get two options to choose your profile image; either you can take photos or Choose a photo from your mobile gallery.
Select Photo:
If you tap on the “choose photo” tab, you will have an option to choose your profile image from your mobile gallery.
Tap Accept:
Once you choose the image from your gallery, you will have an option to crop your image and just below the image, where you will find two options, either you want to CANCEL or ACCEPT. Tap on the “ACCEPT” located at the bottom of the page.
Now, you have successfully uploaded your profile image on your Google account and your YouTube account.
Method 3
On Mobile:
Open YouTube App:
Open the mobile application page on your mobile device, and tap the YouTube application.
If you are not already logged into your YouTube account, tap the Humanoid tab located at the upper right corner of the window. Here, you need to choose the Google account, which is associated with your YouTube account.
If you don’t have an account associated with the YouTube account, tap the Add account option. Here, you have to enter the login credentials in the given fields to sign in.
Tap the profile icon:
From the YouTube dashboard, tap on the Profile Icon located at the upper right corner of the YouTube page.
If none of your profile images is uploaded on YouTube account, it shows a colored circle with the first letter of your first name.
Tap Manage your Google Account settings:
When you tap on the profile tab, it will navigate you to a new page, where you have to tap the “Manage your Google Account” tab.
Tap Personal Info Icon:
Tap the “Personal Information” icon located next to the Home tab.
Tap photo:
From the Personal Info tab, tap the photo icon. It looks like a colorful circle that is located next to the photo option. Once you tap on the “Photo” tab, a popup will appear with some notification.
Tap Set Profile Photo:
From the popup menu, tap on the “Set Profile Photo” option, located at the right bottom of the popup menu.
Once you tap the Set Profile Photo tab, you will have two options to select your profile photo, either from the mobile gallery or you can take from the camera. Here, you need to select the profile picture as per your choice.
Tap Accept:
Once you choose your profile image, tap on the “ACCEPT” tab located at the bottom right corner of the page. Now, your profile picture is successfully uploaded.
