How to poke someone on Facebook
Poke is same as giving ‘likes’ on Facebook, which has a much more ambiguous purpose. The Urban Dictionary says that poke allows users to show interest in a friend or to say ‘hello’ without going through the tedious process of crafting coherent sentences. We can poke only our friends or friends of friends on Facebook. When we poke someone on Facebook, they will get the notification and ask to “sent back poke”.
Note: If we don’t want to be poked, we can block them.
These are the following steps used to poke a friend:
Desktop:
1) Login into Facebook Account
Firstly, open the Facebook official website by pasting the https://www.facebook.com/ in the address bar of our preferred web browser. If we are already logged into Facebook, we will directly reach the News Feed page. But if we are not login, then we have to enter the username, phone number, and email address, followed by the password in the given tab.
2) Click on the Help Center
Now, we will click on the Help center button at the upper-right corner of the news feed page.
3) Search poke
Now, we will type the poke in the search field and press the Enter key on the keyboard. This click will show several questions with their answers.
4) Click on the “How do I poke someone on Facebook”.
Now, we will click on the “How do I poke someone on Facebook”. This will be the first question on the list after searching the poke. This click will give the desired answer to the question.
5) Click on the pokes page link.
The answer contains the link of the Poke Page. We will click on the pokes page link, and this click will open the Poke page.
6) Use search field
We will use the search field to find the name whom we want to poke. We will simply type the name of that friend in the search field. As soon as we type the name of the friend, all the friends of that name will be visible below the search field.
7) Click on the name of the friend.
Now, we will click on the name of that friend. In response to this click, our friend will get notified.
Mobile App:
1) Login into Facebook Account
Firstly, we will launch the Facebook app. By doing this, we will directly reach the News Feed page. But if we are not login, then we have to enter the username, phone number, and email address, followed by the password in the given tab.
2) Click on the three lines.
Now, we will click on the three lines located at upper right corner of the news feed page. This click will open the Facebook menu.
3) Click on the Help & Support
Now, we will click on the Help & Support drop-down. This drop-down will be the menu item. After clicking on the drop-down, a list of several more options regarding help and support will be visible.
4) Click on the Help Center
Now, we will click on the first item of the Help & Support drop-down, i.e., Help Center. This click will open the Help Center page of Facebook.
5) Search poke
Now, we will type the poke in the search field and press ok. This click will show several questions with their answers.
6) Click on the “How do I poke someone on Facebook”.
