How to tag someone on Facebook
When we tag someone, we create a link to their profile. The post will also be added to that person’s timeline after tagging him/her. We can tag someone in a photo for showing who’s in the photo with us. If we tag a friend in our status update, anyone can go to our friend’s profile by clicking on the name. Our status update will also be shown up on that friend’s timeline.
The tagged friend will be notified. When we tag someone in our post, the post could be visible to the audience we selected plus friends of the tagged person.
These are the following steps used to tag a friend on Facebook:
Desktop
1) Login to the Facebook
Firstly, open the Facebook official website by pasting the https://www.facebook.com/ in the address bar of our preferred web browser. If already logged into Facebook, we will directly reach the News Feed page. But if we are not login, enter the username, phone number, and email address, followed by the password in the given tab.
2) Upload photo
After logging to the Facebook account, upload the photo to post it on Facebook and tag a friend on Facebook. We will upload a photo by clicking on the Photo/Video.
3) Write something about the post
Now, write something about the photo or caption. Caption highlights our photo or video, which we are going to post.
4) Click on the tag button.
After writing the caption, click to the tag button located below the uploaded photo/video and in between gallery and location buttons. The tag button is a blue icon of people with a tag.
5) Search friend
The search bar will open after clicking on the tag button. We will type the friend’s name to tag and click on that friend’s name.
We can tag more than one friend. If we want to tag more, search for another friend and click to the name of that friend.
6) Click on the Done
We will click on the Done button located at the top right corner. In response to this click, we will be back to our post. At the top of the post, the name of the friend will be visible with our name.
7) Click on the Post
We will click on the post button located below the image. As soon as we click to the post button, our image will be live, and the tagged friend will be notified.
Mobile
1) Login to the Facebook
Firstly, launch the Facebook app and we will directly reach the News Feed page. But if we are not login, enter the username, phone number, and email address, followed by the password in the given tab.
2) Upload photo
3) Write something about the post.
4) Click on the tag button.
5) Search friend
6) Click on the Done
7) Click on the Post
