NIFTY: National Stack Exchange Fifty

NIFTY stands for National stock exchange FIFTY. It is also known as CNX Nifty, Nifty 50 or simple Nifty. It is a leading index for large companies on the National Stock Exchange in India. It contains 50 stock exchanges accounting for 23 sectors of the economy.

Usage

NIFTY is used as for a variety of purposes. Some are:

Nifty is owned and managed by India Index Services and Products Ltd. (IISL) that is a joint venture between NSE and CRISIL.
